Time-Lapse

Time-lapse photography is an incredibly powerful tool to compress time. Most of our clients engage in lengthy construction or demolition projects, some spanning 3+ years, so to watch an entire project in a few seconds can be quite spectacular.

Our team will evaluate your project site, understand the project scope & duration, and install the TL units in the most optimal vantage points. We then visit the site once a month for maintenance (lens cleaning, media downloads etc). This monthly maintenance is included at no charge if we are also performing monthly photography/filming progress services.

We were the first company in Australia to deploy fully automated solar-powered time-lapse units to run continuously 24/7 on even the most remote construction and demolition sites.

All our self-contained, solar-powered Time-Lapse camera units are custom built for us in the U.S.A, specifically to withstand the harshest Australian environmental conditions. Our cameras have survived 185km/hr cyclone winds and 50c+ degree heat for weeks on end in Northern Western Australia, and below 0 during blizzards in Scotland, UK… all without skipping a beat.

All our units are equipped with a 4G cellular connectivity option so our clients can check in at any time of the day to view the latest images uploaded from their site, right from their office chair. The 4G connectivity hardware comes standard with all of our TL units and is charged on a monthly subscription basis during your project (to cover the cost of cloud storage and 4G data), but, unlike most other companies, this subscription is only a useful option, and not a mandatory requirement.

At Smooth Motion Media, we take extra steps in post production to color correct, and precisely align our time lapses using image algorithms which produces a much cleaner, more stable finished product for our clients.
